Maclaren Triumph Stroller Review

I can't keep track of all of the stories I've heard about moms and dads who buy inexpensive umbrella strollers - only to 'have to' buy a new stroller weeks later. I personally fall into this group... My umbrella stroller from Jeep fell apart - the footrest snapped and one wheel broke off - leaving me and my daughter high and dry.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

I replaced my broken umbrella stroller with a Maclaren stroller that, unlike my previous stroller, was built to last. Maclaren is a stroller manufacturer from England who is known for their high quality products.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

The Maclaren Triumph, made with strong lightweight aluminum, is a bare-bones umbrella stroller that has a reclining seat. The key benefit that Maclaren offers with all of their strollers is the quality and durability of the materials they use. I have owned a Maclaren Volo stroller for four years and it looks and functions as if it was brand new.

The handles on the Triumph are not typical for an umbrella stroller, they are ergonomically designed to accommodate parents of various heights. They also have foam padding that makes it comfortable for parents to stroll.

The wheels on the Triumph are small and plastic, there's really no shock absorption with this stroller - so you'll find yourself gravitating to even surfaces. The wheels do swivel so your turning radius is pretty amazing. My daughter loves to be spun around and around in her stroller. The swivel wheels lock if you want a bit more control - but this is a feature that I never use.

The seat on the Triumph is removable - it can be removed and thrown into the laundry to be cleaned. The seat reclines using a nifty draw-string-like device - so you can customize your ideal angle of recline. Some parents reported that the seat doesn't recline 100% flat nor does it sit up straight. But most moms and dads, in general, loved this feature.

The canopy, or hood, on the Triumph stroller is made out of high quality water resistant material. The coverage that it offers is at par with other umbrella strollers... which is pretty minimal. Thank goodness that a rain cover, with substantial coverage, comes standard with the Triumph.

Triumph strollers fold and unfold like a dream. Maclaren calls it a five second fold... I'd call it a two second fold. Pull up on one latch, step on another and drop the stroller - that's it! The stroller automatically locks in its folded position. And with its carry strap you can whip this bad boy over your shoulder and off you go.

Who's using this?
Mom's and dads who want more out of their lightweight umbrella stroller: durability, high quality and a reclining seat.

What's working well?
Being lightweight and having great maneuverability makes this stroller a favorite for both traveling and for day to day use. This stroller packs up and stores so easily - you might not use your standard-sized stroller again.

What's not working well?
When the seat is fully reclined it's really difficult to get into the storage basket. Several reviewers complained about the reclining seat... They reported that the stroller doesn't recline completely flat nor does it adjust to a completely upright position.

Why would you want to buy the Triumph?
Because you are tired of buying multiple bargain umbrella strollers that leave you stranded when they fall apart. Because you are looking for a lightweight stroller, that's super easy to open and close, and carry. Because you are looking for a stroller that will look and perform as if it was brand new - for years.

Why would you 'not' want to buy this stroller?
Because you'd like easier access to the storage basket Because you'd like a seat that has superior reclining capabilities Because you'd like a stroller that offers cup holders and storage trays/pockets as standard features. Because you are looking for a stroller that is compatible with infant car seats

Other strollers to consider

Graco Metrolite - if you want an umbrella stroller with an accessible storage basket. The Graco Metrolite stroller has a 'lower & load' storage basket the gives you access to your gear without disturbing your child.

Maclaren Volo - if you want to save about ... The Volo is a well-built umbrella stroller, just like the Triumph, but it does not have a reclining seat.

Maclaren Techno XT - if you are looking for a full-featured lightweight stroller that's built to last.

Maclaren Techno XLR - if you are looking for a full-featured lightweight stroller that is compatible with a wide variety of infant car seats.

Recommendation

If you're tired of burning through cheap umbrella strollers, if you looking for a stroller that won't cost you an arm and a leg, and if you are looking forward to buying your last stroller that will most likely replace your standard-sized stroller.... Then the Maclaren Triumph has your name on it.

The Best Luggage Warranty, and What it Means to You

Buying luggage would seem to be an easy task... but it's not. If you're shopping for luggage you may be confused about what to look for so that you can get your best value from a reliable luggage manufacturer. Getting the best value and getting the best warranty often go hand-in-hand. This article talks about some of the most important things you'll need to know in order to choose the right luggage brand.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

Many bags tend to look the same, so you must take a closer look at what is available. That way you do not end up with a bag that will fall apart on your first trip. And I mean that literally. A poorly made piece of luggage can genuinely fall apart on just one airline trip. Don't be fooled into thinking that a cheap flea market bag is good enough.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

A leading consumer magazine recently warned its readers about buying low priced luggage because they do not last too long. It's true that you get what you pay for, and like all consumer products, good luggage is not cheap, but some are better values than others.

One important thing to look for is the warranty. Luggage manufacturers that offer warranties that provide lifetime coverage are a good first step. Some premium luggage companies go even further by covering airline damage with free repairs or replacement if necessary. You might ask yourself how they can afford to do that. It all goes back to how well the bag is made. Luggage that is made from the best materials and components, and is made to exacting quality standards, will give you the fewest problems and can last a lifetime.

But besides durability, another big benefit from buying top quality luggage is how well it performs. Better wheels and handles mean sturdier and quieter operation. This is a big thing if you have to walk a lot in airports. The best luggage will have a cushioned rubber grip for your hand. Specially designed wheels help reduce vibration and fatigue. Premium zippers are not only smoother to use, they reduce the chance of the bag opening, thus protecting your personal belongings better. And some companies give you extra premium zippers that are more resistant to damage. An interior compartment with easy to clean fabrics and deluxe features means more convenient packing and easy maintenance.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

First of all, it is important to note that the base or root of anger changes as the child. Especially at a young age are the cornerstones of the development impact of their child's ability to respond to the variables in their environment.

For a 2-year whims are probably a symptom or a sign of the need to be dissatisfied. Are not any misdeeds or a bad thing. However, they must be faced and the causetakes to be the focus of your efforts. It is not necessary to live with tantrums, but requires some work on your part.

The Root tantrums for 2 years

For two years, it is usually a whim stress. The cause of stress can be many things. For example, the child or the child struggling with potty, too much TV or just need a little attention 'more mom and dad. Attention canneed to be an extra 15 minutes in Mom's lap, but it can make all the difference for your little one.

So, to prevent tantrums, which is the best way of stopping tantrums, you need to determine what the cause of the stress is and work on reducing the stress.

Stopping 2 Year Olds Tantrums

As was mentioned above, the best way to end tantrums is to prevent them. To stop tantrums, you are going to need to give your toddler what they need. That will include, but is not limited to, finding gross-motor outlets for the energy accumulated through stress, frustration, and everyday energy build-up in a toddler. This can include bear hugs, outdoor play, jungle gym play-time, and so much more. The focus is on using large muscle groups (legs, arms, shoulder) to expel energy each and every day.

In addition, you need to provide a time of reduced stimulation. Turn off the TV. Turn of the music. Have some quiet time for you and your little one. This will allow for their senses to calm down and process all of the input for the day.

In short, to understand 2 year old tantrums, you have to be a 2 year old. To stop a 2 year old tantrum, you have to love your 2 year old. Seem easy enough?

Future Flying Cars - Traffic in the Skies

Imagine strapping yourself into your car and instead of going forward you begin to lift upward, sort of like you imagined a flying saucer would take off when you were a kid, but you're no alien and this is for real.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

Flying Cars, Are You for Real?

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

When Doctor Paul Moller founded the Moller Institute in 1983, the idea of a flying car remained in the world of fantasy and Sci-fi enthusiasts. Today Dr. Moller's dream of commuter transportation using the sky has moved from the imagination to the first stages of reality. Today the Moller Institute through Freedom Motors (formed by Moller) has produced the MX-400, a futuristic looking sky-car that can take off vertically and get speeds of 350 mph. Its engine is light weight, producing less emissions than conventional motors, but has a drawback...it only get 15 miles per gallon.

Flying Cars become Competitive

The Moller Sky Car is not the only flying car in production. Flying cars or Personal Air Vehicles (PAV) are personal vehicles that maneuver both on the road and in the sky. Besides the Moller Sky Car there are at least four other PAV's under development. The Transition by Terrafugia Inc, the Haynes Aero Skyblazer by Haynes Aero, the FSC-1 by LaBiche Aerospace, the Magic Dragon , by StrongMobile, and the Moller M400 Skycar by Moller International are changing the face of the vehicular transportation industry.

This change moves the concept and potential that has long been held only by the military to "car manufacturers." The implication of these projects are many and may very well complicate the transportation industry, city planning, and aviation for years to come.

Flying Vertically

Not all future flying cars use Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) technology, but it sure has made the ones that do stand out amongst the crowd. This innovation allows the PAV to lift off instead of take off, making it more like a heli-car than a flying car.

VTOL has been in use by the US Military for some time, most notably in the form of the harrier jet. What's remarkable is that both the Moller Sky Car and the X-Hawk use this same technology in their "for driveway vehicles." There are some drawbacks to VTOL, like the price, but the advantages of VTOL technology in flying cars are obvious-no runways needed. It reminds one of that now famous line Doc Brown says to Marty at the end of Back to the Future: "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads."

The Future is in the Sky

Ever since society moved into motorized travel, the sky has been the final frontier of personal travel. It is only natural that as technology advances, car designs will develop that incorporate and amalgamate the ideas and dreams held within us.

With the increasing movement towards creating the next generation of vehicles, the sky is the most likely target. From Moller to LaBiche Aerospace, intense energy has begun to be put into lifting the everyday person into the sky. Whether future flying cars will be used for commuting or recreation, the possibilities are endless. With profound implications for society and the environment, the flying car's effects are just beginning to be felt.

Radio Control Plane - The Revolution of Indoor, Ready to Fly Model Airplanes

Building and flying model airplanes has been an enjoyable pastime for many people over the years. Early model airplanes flew as free flight aircraft. With the development of practical radio control systems in the 1960s, the popularity of remotely piloting your radio control plane from the ground literally took off. However, until quite recently, all flying model radio control planes had to be built by the owner, and the size of the electronic radio control plane systems dictated larger, gas engine powered models flown at outdoor fields.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

A revolution in radio control planes has occurred over the past two years. Due to remarkable advances in technology, the radio control systems in the model planes have shrunk dramatically in size, weight and cost. In addition, model airplane manufacturing methods have allowed for the first time mass production of extremely lightweight ready to fly models. These miniature radio control planes are typically made of foam, and come with all radio control equipment installed in the model. Additional support equipment, usually a transmitter and battery charger, are included in the radio control plane box as well. As a final inducement to the aspiring model radio control plane pilot, these remarkable aircraft are available at a wide variety of hobby and toy stores, and the costs are usually under for everything needed to fly that afternoon.

The First Years Jet Lightweight Stroller

These ready to fly, foam model radio control planes are powered by tiny electric motors, using innovative propeller gearing arrangements to provide plenty of thrust for their flights. The key to success of this new generation of airplane models is their light weight, required to provide pleasing flight characteristics. These models fly at slow, controllable airspeeds. Combined with the durability of their foam construction and responsive radio control plane systems, these aircraft are ideally suited to flying indoors.

One would have been met with looks of disbelief if you mentioned the idea of indoor radio control plane flight just a few years ago. Today, it is an everyday occurrence. The innovation of indoor radio control plane flight allows for flying year round. With outdoor, gas powered radio control planes, it takes a hardy soul to brave a flight in the middle of a northern winter. With the advent of practical indoor model flight, weather related limitations are gone forever. As a final inducement to try out this new area of radio control plane modeling, consider that you no longer have to carefully check the weather before heading out to your flying site. Old worries on the amount of wind or a forecast of rain - major impacts on outdoor model flight - are simply not a consideration.

Perhaps one of the most positive developments of this revolution regarding indoor radio control plane flight is the fact that the ready to fly aircraft provide personal time to both the new and seasoned model pilot. In earlier days of radio control plane flight, pilots had to be builders. The typical model builder/pilot spent the winter constructing two or three radio control planes for the summer flying season. People lead busier lives these days, and many simply do not have the time available to put together these intricate, complicated models. The concept of simply buying a complete model, ready to fly right out of the box, opens up the radio control plane hobby to a much wider audience. In addition, it is not at all uncommon to see model aviators bring multiple radio control planes to the indoor flying sites. This is simply not possible when you have to construct every model on your own workbench.

On my website (address at the end of this article), you can find a wide range of information on ready to fly indoor radio control planes, to include flight reviews and video demonstrations. This wonderful hobby is open to all, due to the wide availability of superb flying radio control models and the incredibly inexpensive prices. Give one of these remarkable aircraft a try, you simply cannot go wrong.
